I’ve fallen in love with cruising (with some caveats), and I’ve been lucky enough to take some amazing trips. I could probably blabber on about cruising for hours, but the tl;dr is that for me, it’s a reliable way to turn money into fun. This is a huge privilege and a splurge.
| Fall 2008 | Carnival Freedom | Mediterranean – Rome, Sicily, Pisa, Florence, Dubrovnik, Venice, Monte Carlo, Barcelona. | Paid for with the money from Fiddler’s Engineering Excellence award. Got engaged. |
| Carnival Splendor | Mexican Riviera | Cancelled after the boat caught fire on a prior sailing. | |
| Spring 2018 | Disney Magic | Bahamas | First cruise with the boys. |
| Spring 2019 | Disney Wonder | Baja | West Coast cruise |
| End of 2020 | Disney Magic | Bahamas | Final cruise as a couple. #Awkward |
| End of 2021 | Royal Adventure | Mexican Coast | First solo cruise |
| Spring 2022 | Royal Adventure | Mexican Coast | Me and the boys |
| Sept 2022 | Royal Ovation | Alaska | Brews Cruise |
| End of 2022 | Disney Magic | Western Caribbean | Cousins cruise – the boys, their cousins, and aunt and uncle. |
| Spring 2024 | Royal Voyager | Mexican Coast | Me and the boys |
| Summer 2024 | Royal Vision | Bermuda, Bahamas, CocoCay | Family vacation with kids, parents and cousins. It’s a (relatively) small older boat, but we splurged on (relatively) giant suites. |
| End of 2024 | Royal Icon | St Thomas, St Kitts, CocoCay | The biggest cruise ship in the world. Had an awesome time. |
| Spring 2025 | Royal Mariner | Cozumel | Solo cruise. Fun, but short. |
| Fall 2025 | Royal Harmony | Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel | Me, the boys, and their grandparents |
| ? | Icon or Star | ? | Boys and Cousins |
One day, I’d love to do the Greek Isles, Australia, and Antarctica.
